UCLH is running a free online study day on caring for critically ill haematology patients. On 21 November 2023. Expert speakers will discuss neutropenic sepsis, chest crisis, HLH, CRS and many other complications. Ending with a fascinating keynote by Professor Elie Azoulay.

On 21 November 2023, clinicians from UCLH will be running an online study day on “Caring for the Critically Ill Haematology Patient” from 14:00-20:00.

Various UCLH experts will explore the diseases and treatment complications which bring haematology patients into the intensive care unit, including:

  • Febrile neutropenia
  • Respiratory failure
  • TTP
  • CRRT
  • Sickle cell veno-occlusive crisis and chest crisis
  • Hyper-viscosity
  • DIC
  • Tumour lysis syndrome
  • HLH
  • Cardiac complications
  • CRS/ICANS and post transplant complications

We will finish with a keynote presentation by Professor Elie Azoulay, the preeminent researcher of critically ill haematology patients. His presentation is on ‘Which haematology patients benefit from ICU care?’.
