Leukaemia UK have announced their Future of Haematology Grants Programme – providing funding for Early Career Development and Mentorship projects.
Leukaemia UK are encouraging staff to stay in the specialism and develop care pathways, research approaches and personal development experiences that will benefit both their long term careers in haematology AND improve their ability to provide potential improvements in care or advances towards improved treatments.
The programme comprises of flexible funding for haematology professionals still at an early stage in their careers, to explore interesting avenues, and find innovative approaches to blood cancer treatments and patient care.
The programme is also seeking to encourage the sharing of best practice in the UK, by funding travel and subsistence expenses for mentorships of up to 3 months.
Leukaemia UK wish for this programme to encourage new ideas and ways of doing things which might then pave the way for significant investment and long term change.
It is anticipated that each grant awarded under this umbrella will be for up to £10,000.
