BSH VOLUNTEER TESTIMONY

"BSH supports trainees with educational resources and excellent guidelines and I wanted to contribute to that."

Amany I. Mohamed, Communications Committee

"Since becoming a member of the BSH Haemato-Oncology Task Force, I have really enjoyed the opportunity to be involved in discussions around new guideline proposals, as well as reviewing new or updated guidelines before they are published.

It's a friendly, approachable group with a broad range of interests across haemato-oncology - I really enjoy sharing ideas and learning from others in the meetings, which take place every three months."

Matthew Wilson, Haemato–Oncology Task Force

Current BSH committee vacancies

Trainees for BSH Guidelines Task Forces - four vacancies - deadline: 30 September 2024

The British Society for Haematology (BSH) Guidelines Executive Committee invite interested trainees with clinical experience to join their task forces.  We are recruiting one trainee per task force (General Haematology, Haemato-Oncology, Haemostasis & Thrombosis and Transfusion).  The appointments will be for one year.  Applications are requested from trainee consultant haematologists and trainee consultant clinical scientists at ST5 or equivalent and above. The applicant must have passed the MRCPath Part 1.  Applicants must be a BSH member and work in a UK healthcare setting with recent hospital based experience and demonstrate multi-disciplinary team (MDT) work experience.  Trainees would have an opportunity to join a guidelines writing group and continue on this group at the end of their tenure.

Each task force meets three times annually via Zoom or Teams video conferencing.  The work of the task force is mostly producing and updating guidelines and addressing other areas of development relevant to the UK.  Being part of this group offers an excellent opportunity to advance your career and network with experts in these fields.

To register your interest please send your CV and covering letter indicating which task force you would like to join, to Rita Gupta, Guidelines Programme Manager [email protected]  by 30 September 2024.
